The 426 Hemi’s ratings were pure fiction. Actual dyno tests with 480-500HP of stock Hemis have shown that. The 426 Hemi and the 340 were probably two of the most-underrated engines of the era. The same is true for the LS6 454, which will handily make 500HP in stock trim.
